The Korean Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU), through the office of President Dong-geun Ryu, announced that the BRES Center, headed by Director Oh Jin-seok and which operates the Korea-Indonesia Offshore Plant Cooperation Center (KIORCC), has opened its first round of recruitment for companies interested in using a newly opened workspace in Jakarta. This initiative is intended to help Korean companies in the offshore plant service industry enter the Indonesian market. The application period is open until May 26.

The Jakarta-based workspace was established within the government building of the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Gambir, Jakarta) on January 9. Opened alongside the KIORCC office, the workspace consists of private and shared offices, meeting rooms, and a reception area.

Beyond merely providing a physical space for industrial activities, the workspace will also provide a variety of support measures to facilitate domestic companies’ overseas expansion, including networking with promising local clients and institutions, expert consultation on legal and administrative matters, and more.

“We have been supporting companies in the offshore plant service industry in Korea since the opening of the cooperation center in 2019, and we hope that this workspace will help companies conduct local business smoothly and acquire opportunities for overseas expansion,” said Director Jin-seok Oh on the occasion of xx.

Companies interested in using the workspace can apply through the KMOUC website. Final selections will be made after the first and second rounds of evaluation. For further inquiries, please contact the BRES Center at kmouc@kmou.ac.kr.

Concurrently, the BRES Center is actively carrying out projects, such as domestic and overseas shipbuilding and marine business operations, shipbuilding and marine industry education for the development of the marine industry, and training of overseas local operating personnel and maritime technicians, as well as research and technology development projects through industry-academe-research collaboration.

The KIORCC was established in 2019 under the Implementation Agreement for Cooperation in the Offshore Plant Service Industry between the two countries’ Ministries of Oceans and Fisheries. It is managed by the BRES Center of the KMOU with support from the Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
