Korea Scholarship) Outstanding Exchange Student Support Program

National Korea Maritime and Ocean University (Acting deputy president: Choi Seokyoon) has been selected for the “2024 Government Invited Scholars (Global Korea Scholarship) Outstanding Exchange Student Support Program Learning University”.

It is organized by the National Institute of International Education and Ministry of Education, for the second consecutive year since 2023.

The project aims to enhance the globalization capabilities of universities and foster global awareness through interactions between domestic and foreign students.

The goal is to select and advocate for outstanding foreign exchange students recommended by Korean universities that have contracted exchange agreements with universities in other countries.

It intends to elevate Korea’s global reputation by affirming mutually beneficial relationships between countries.

Foreign exchange students who are nominated and chosen by National Korea Maritime and Ocean University will be provided round-trip airfare and academic grants during the scholarship period.

They will also be able to optimize academic efficiency while studying as exchange students.

“Through winning the GKS Outstanding Students Support Project for the second time, we have laid the foundation for enhancing our global partnership and boosting interpersonal exchanges between students,” said Choi Jincheol, head of the International Exchange Division at National Korea Maritime and Ocean University.

Additionally, the student stated that, “Through this, we will do our best to ensure that foreign exchange students from various countries complete our excellent education programs and move forward as a source of global maritime talent.”
