KMOU  Receives the Highest Grade in the Evaluation of Network Building Division in the National University Nurturing Project

―Earns approximately 2.8 billion KRW for the 2019 project―

On June 5, the Ministry of Education announced that our university  has received the highest grade  in the “Evaluation of Network Building and Activation Plans in the 2019 National University Nurturing Project.” This achievement has enabled us to earn a project funding of approximately 2.8 billion KRW.

The National University Nurturing Project is supervised by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation in order to strengthen the publicness and competitiveness of higher education. It supports national universities to voluntarily plan and conduct their unique capacity-building projects in association with the presidential agenda. Our university has received project funding for seven consecutive years, including the National University Operational Performance Target System Project in 2013 and the National University Innovation Support Project (PoINT) from 2014 to 2017.

This year in particular, we have included evaluation indices for “network building and activation” in addition to the existing projects. Our university intends to conduct a program for constructing a sustainable network ecosystem between the university and regional community with the aim of expanding the synergy of community innovation and cooperation network based on marine characterization (RCM-4NET*).

*RCM-4NET stands for Regional Community Marine 4 NETwork: university, local government, businesses, and research institutes.

Gap-Soo Gyeong, Project Manager and Director of the Office of Planning Affairs, said, “We have achieved a series of good results in the financial support projects of the Ministry of Education, such as the University Innovation Support Project, owing to the active cooperation of all members of our university. We will strive to contribute to the regional co-development and national balanced development as a hub institution of regional education and research through the National University Nurturing Project.”
