On November 10, our university had a special lecture by Prof. Hiroshi Amano who won the Nobel Prize in Physics. During his lecture, KMOU students had a place for communication with him. Also, it was the grand finale of KMOU 70th anniversary celebration.
Prof. Amano gave his lecture in English on his experience, results of his research and prospects for the future of the invention of “Blue LEDs”.
Through his lecture, he advised and encouraged students, “Although I recognized that my research results have already been invented by a Russian scientist 4 years ago, I didn’t give it up. I achieved my final goal by three thousand times experiments rather give-up.” Also, he added, “it is very important that you should go ahead after you set direction on your study subject you are interested in.”
Before his special lecture, our university had a MOU signing ceremony with Nagoya University, Japan. Through its ceremony, two universities promised to promote and encourage closer international academic cooperation in the future.
