On October 19, our university granted an honorary doctorate degree to Megawati Sukarnoputri who is the leader of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and the former President of Indonesia.

At the conferment ceremony, Dr. Han-il PARK(KMOU President) commented, “Megawati Sukarnoputri is a global leader recognized universally and she contributed to formulating democracy in Indonesia. Taking this opportunity, I hope that international exchange will be promoted in the fields of ocean education and research.”

Also, Megawati Sukarnoputri replied, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the degree and congratulate on the 70th anniversary of KMOU. I will do my utmost to act as a bridge between two countries in various fields including ocean.”
