On February 28, Korea Maritime and Ocean University held the matriculation ceremony for 2014.

At this event, many valuable students' parents and honored guests attended; including a former President of KMOU, a President of Busan Port Authority, a Chief of Korea Marine Officers' Association, a Chief Korea Ship Manager's Association and a City Councilman.

For 2014 academic year, a total of 1,532 incoming freshmen were admitted.

- College of Engineering: 482

- College of International Studies: 346

President Han-Il Park requested that all new students become outstanding talents who are always thinking creatively and actively like a vast ocean.
