KMOU graduate school student Mr. Matthew Vail Smith, majoring in Coast Guard Studies, was awarded the ‘best presentation prize’ at 2013 Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Marine Environment & Safety. The title of his presentation was “A Coast-Benefit Estimate for KCG Auxiliary.”

After graduating from Arizona State University, Mr. Smith has been working for KMU as a visiting professor since 2011 and studying for the doctorate in Coast Guard Studies specializing in Marine Environment & Safety at KMU.
