The Jeokdo Festival that boasts a long history and tradition of our school is exciting the whole A-chi island.

The annual ‘Jeokdo’ Festival, which celebrates its 68th event this year, derives from the Neptune’s revel(赤道祭). In the 15th century, in the days of sail, a memorial service for Neptune, the god of the sea, was held to pray for the wind when ships were sailing along the equator where there is no wind. Our school has held this event as an annual college festival since the school opened in 1945. The festival, which used to be exclusively for the students of the College of Maritime Sciences, has been upgraded as the sole university festival that incorporates Achi Daedong Festival of other colleges since 2011.

The festival will be held around the campus through May 16th with various events such as the burst of primary colors, folk dance, club performances, talent shows, and the performances of Supreme Team and Girl’s Day as invited singers.
